I was shooting a recital this weekend, but it wasn't your typical one. There were no violins in a concert hall. This one was for rockbands, and was at a bar. They even had a light setup in the bar, which made for some great photographic opportunities - but I digress.
After it was all over, and we started packing up, I remembered this project and looked around for someone to grab a picture of. Since it had to be a stranger, I couldn't ask the people I already knew from the music school, or the owner of the bar, whom I had met the last time we had done this, but there a few waitresses floating around.
Lisa's nose ring caught my eye, and I thought it might make for an interesting addition to the series. I asked her if she had a minute, and took a couple of shots of her by some huge windows.
Unfortunately, I don't have any 12 foot softboxes, but a large window with indirect light coming through does a great job. They also did a really great job in making catchlights in her eyes.
