7 - José

Rejected again. It's all a part of the learning experience though. The older gentleman sitting in the Mount Pleasant Theatre took a few moments to accept my outstretched hand, but ended up declining my request. I'm used to this by now, so I say thanks and figure I'll just get my next stranger tomorrow.

Just before I drop off a roll of film at the store down the street, I walk past a Mediterranean / Spanish special foods store, and these two piercing blue eyes spot me going by. I almost walked past, but they pulled me in.

Jose was kind enough to accept, and while I got my settings ready we chatted for a few minutes. His family stems from Italy, but he was born in Venezuela. He moved to Toronto 11 years ago, and never looked back, opening the store not but 2 years ago. As we were talking, he asked about the project, and mentioned that he was also something of a photographer, and was currently taking a course online from a school in New York.

Thanks for the shot José, it was a pleasure to meet you!
