One-Flash Pony
One thing I’ve been struggling with since I got my flash is not having more flashes. It sounds greedy, but only having one light makes for harsh shadows, and a lack of detail in the dark areas of the photo.
Thanks to a number of tutorials, I’ve found a way to get around it. Now, this only works for shots on tripods and still subjects, but a good little nugget of information nonetheless. Here’s how I took the shot:
1. I set up my subject and camera where I wanted them.

Flash Resource
I was just stumbling around the internet, and I found this great resource, particularly on flash photography. It’s more on the science-y side of things than the practical or creative, but extremely informative. If you don’t know what guide number, inverse square law, and rear-curtain sync are, then this resource is for you.
